IX 2021- Innovative web designs by undergrads

The IEEE Student Branch of IIT recently organised ‘IX 2021’ a competition to assemble all talented designers to explore their creativity and skills and present the most innovative web designs.‘IX 2021’ is a virtual inter-university competition held for the second consecutive year to test the skills of students in the ever-evolving field of UI/UX design. Registrants were provided an opportunity to learn about Ui/UX design via a webinar hosted by industry experts.
“IX 2021, aims towards virtually bringing together aspiring undergraduate designers, where they can compete in teams to showcase their UI/UX designing skills,” said Abithan Muralidharan, President, IEEE student branch of IIT.
The initial round was held last month where each team comprised 2-3 members from the same university where they battled it out to qualify to be among the top 10 teams eligible for the final round which was held recently. The most popular content title was awarded with cash prizes for the entree with the most number of likes on IEEE’s Facebook page.
Out of the finalists the most talented top three teams were awarded cash prizes with certificates.
The second runner-up award went to team inTANgible, which included Thenuka Ovin Weerasinghe, Nilukshan Krishnaram and Amaya Kinivita from the University of Colombo, First runner-up prize was awarded to team Pied Piper, whose team comprised Jahzan Ahamed, Chandira Gunatilleke and Nadil Padmaperuma from IIT.
The champions with the most innovative and outstanding entry went to Senesh Chanuka Sirimanne, Kavindu Avishka Silva and Nimendra Kariyawasam, students of IIT from team Consilio.
