It’s a place for everybody brandwise, designwise
Fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands under one roof with a uniquely local twist — Wear House (WH) opened the doors to its flagship store last Sunday aiming to reinvent the concept of retail.
Located in the heart of Colombo at No. 79, Dharmapala Mawatha, WH is set to bring a curated collection of local brands under one roof, and serve as a platform for new and emerging designers and entrepreneurs all across the country to reach a wider customer base.
The luxurious retail space, together with the launch of their online store www.wearhouse.lk, was launched in collaboration with Lin Asia Holdings and designer fashion brand House of Indi. Speaking at the launch, Managing Director, fashion designer Indi Yapa Abeywardena revealed that this project is the brainchild of two friends – Limini Weerasinghe and herself, and their shared love of supporting female entrepreneurship and local SME development.
The WH platform aims to give small local brands the exposure they need to reach both local and international markets and aims to take Sri Lanka’s hidden gems – its designers, artisans and craftsmen – to the world.
“The concept is to house different brands, designers and lifestyle labels in one place, where everyone can find a product for them. It’s a place for everybody,” Indi adds.
From trendy seasonal clothing, accessories and beauty products to decor, crafts and speciality items — the elegant interiors of WH will feature an exciting array of top designers and emerging labels, with fresh collections dropping multiple times per month and home delivery via the website.
Joining the WH platform are brands like Colombo Batik, Seth Ceylon, Niera, Taliya, Karma Collection, Wax By Pooja, Alura, Mahi, Daisy Bloom, Pabalu, Téarapy Ceylon and more. “We have brought together some amazing vendors from online, ethical and sustainable brands with a lack of physical presence into a creative space in Colombo, where people can also see them in person before purchasing,” says Indi.
WH will also be launching their own line of contemporary ready-to-wear fashion, consisting of the WH-ite Collection, Bo-Ho Collection, and WH Love; with new collections launching every other month. WH will also be home to Indi’s upcoming ethnicwear brand Indi Bindi, and customers can also place exclusive custom orders with Indi’s own label, schedule appointments with Indi in store or even book virtual consultations.
WH will also ensure that COVID health and safety guidelines are strictly followed, through enforcing maximum store capacities, regular and thorough cleaning and sanitiser stations (including registers and fitting rooms in between each guest), etc.for a safe shopping experience.
