French help for Kandy’s cable car project discussed
The possibility of a Cable Car Project in the Kandy District was discussed by the Ambassador of France in Sri Lanka, Eric Lavertu with the Governor of the Central Province Lalith U Gamage when both met at the Governor’s Office in Kandy
this week.
This proposal was made with the intention of curtailing environmental pollution and avoiding traffic congestion in Kandy.
The Ambassador also discussed the possibility of exporting agricultural produce, especially from Matale, where a number of irrigation projects had been undertaken by the French Government.
Among other topics discussed was how the French Government could help Kandy and its people.
The Governor requested the Survey Department to conduct a survey.
