RCB signs Hasaranga and Chameera for UAE leg of IPL
All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga and fast-bowler Dushmantha Chameera will play for Royal Challenges Bangalore (RCB) in the UAE leg of IPL 2021.The franchise announced the signing of two Sri Lankans yesterday.
Hasaranga, ranked No.2 in T20 bowling, was the was the Player of the Series in the recently concluded three-match series against India taking seven wickets in three matches at an economy rate of 5.58.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanidu Hasaranga to the RCB Family for the second leg of #IPL 2021 in UAE. He replaces Adam Zampa,” the club announced on their twitter handle.
Chameera has been excellent with the ball as well, as he picked up four wickets in the recent series against India giving away just 63 runs in three games.
“Chameera, Sri Lankan fast bowler, is ready to #PlayBold as he joins RCB for the UAE leg of #IPL 2021. Chameera replaces Daniel Sams. Welcome to the family, Chameera,” RCB announced on twitter.
RCB is led by Indian skipper Virat Kohli. IPL 2021, which was postponed in May in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, will resume on September 19 in Dubai with a clash between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
The action will then shift to Abu Dhabi where Kolkata Knight Riders will square off against Royal Challengers Bangalore
