Info session on how to apply to Oxford for graduate studies
View(s):The University of Oxford is one of the world’s most renowned and oldest universities, having been ranked second in QS World University Rankings 2022. Today, the Oxford family comprises over 24,000 students of postgraduate and undergraduate students from a wide variety of courses.
Gaining admission to the University is highly competitive, with only 3,000 students being selected from a pool of 23,000 applicants annually. The University of Oxford engages in a variety of programmes to inform, recruit, and assist the best-qualified applicants from different socioeconomic, cultural, and geographic backgrounds, recognising that one of its most difficult tasks is to encourage students from underrepresented groups to apply and assist them in submitting competitive applications.
The University of Oxford Alumni Network in Sri Lanka has shifted its focus to under-represented groups from all parts of Sri Lanka. Understanding the challenge that comes along with submitting applications through the competitive process, the alumni are organising a comprehensive information session on September 28 from 4-6 p.m. (IST) for anyone looking to apply to the University for graduate study. The panel aims to answer all questions related to the application process and life at Oxford.
“The Oxford Alumni Society in Sri Lanka has been long established to further links between the University and Sri Lanka and enabling more students to apply to the University is an important goal for the Society,” said Hiran Embuldeniya, President of the Oxford Society in Sri Lanka.
