Two foreign tourists found dead

Two tourists from two different countries were found dead at different places in Sri Lanka this week, police said. One of them was identified as Thomas John, a 42-year-old British national. He was found dead in a villa hotel at Panama in Pothuvill.
Mr John had been staying with his wife at a hotel in Hikkaduwa. He had left his wife at the hotel and visited Arugam Bay and later checked into the Panama hotel. Two days later, he was found dead inside the villa. Police said a PCR test was done and they were awaiting the result.
In another incident, a Ukrainian identified as Biktop Viktor (42) was found dead on the Habaraduwa beach. It was believed that he had gone for a dip in the sea. He had first stayed at a hotel in Mirissa and later checked into a hotel in Habaraduwa on September 9.
Police said they were awaiting the result of a PCR test.
