BOC calls in Application for 18 Plus ‘Nanajaya’Scholarship for A/L Achievers of 2020

BOC set this belief in to practice with absolute commitment through bank’s Nanajaya scholarship programme for 18 Plus Account holders who have achieved exceptional results in Advance Level examination.
In this regard BOC will call application from eligible 18 plus account holders who sat for the A/L examination in year 2020.
The aim of “18 Plus Nanajaya” is to encourage and give much needed confidence to the highflying A/L studentsto be proactive contributors by reaching their academic goals and apply their knowledge for the development of the country.
This year the Bank wishes to acknowledge A/L achiever of year 2020, where the scholarships program has to be postponed due to COVID pandemic situation in the country.
A staggering Rs 14 million annual allocations with minimum of 381 scholarships to be offered toA/ L examination achieversof year 2020. The “18 Plus scholarship”programme which commenced in 2003 and later re-launched in 2016 as “Nanajaya”now offers a monthly financial stipend to the scholarship holders. Since 2003 up to 2019, over 2300 students were benefitted through this scholarship scheme and the total amountgranted so far worth over Rs 81 million.
Bank has now called applications from eligible students who have produced exceptional results in 2020 G.C.E A/L examination.
Any students are requested to download an application from www.boc.lk. Completed application forms to be attached with a student’s recent passport size photograph posed wearing his/ her school uniform and dispatched under registered post to reach the Assistant General Manager- Marketing, 16th Floor, Marketing division, Bank of Ceylon head office, Bank of Ceylon square, Colombo 01.
Selection criteria will be based on remarkable AL results and owean 18+ or 18+ smart Gen account fromany branch of BOC maintaining the minimum balance requirement stipulated.Scholarships are granted to all GCE A/L, mainstreams which include biological-science, physical science, commerce, arts, bio-system technology, and engineering technology.
BOC extending its commitment to educate nations students, offers model question paper discussion and past paper discussion sessions to the year 5 scholarship as well as AL commerce students.
