Dr. Lalith Liyanage to represent Sri Lanka at ITTF
The Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka (TTASL) has appointed Dr. Lalith Liyanage to represent the association at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Annual General Meeting to be held in Houston, USA during the World Table Tennis Championship from November 21 to 29.
Dr. Liyanage is a Vice President of TTASL’s current administration and was Acting President during 2019 and 2020. He is a Chartered Engineer with three master’s degrees and a PhD. He is also the current Chairman of IET Sri Lanka Network.
Dr. Liyanage has not only excelled in academia but also proved his all-round talents being an outstanding sportsman having competed in seven sports. He has represented Kandy Schools, Kandy District and Sri Lanka Schools Hockey teams and won Kingswood College Hockey Colours and Hockey Star for two consecutive years. He has also played cricket, football, table tennis, badminton, and carrom and was a prominent figure in athletics at highly competitive levels.
