Ride for Ceylon continues in its aim to raise funds for the restoration and redevelopment of Green Memorial Hospital in Jaffna.

The project, which was originally started by a group of St Thomas College old boys, has broadened into an annual fundraising cycle ride.

Now a major event, the ride is supported and sponsored by friends, colleagues, associates and family members of the founding team. However, R4C too has been heavily impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Their annual ride has now been postponed until 2022. Despite huge setbacks, a pilot ride for next year was completed by a few riders between Nov 17-20. A team of 7 cyclists and a support crew cycled over 400kms from Colombo via Dambulla, Trincomalee, Mullaitivu to Jaffna.

If all goes to plan, the annual ride will go ahead in Mar 2022.
