A worthy cause at a time in need, ‘RTC Christmas with the Kids’ will be a programme for the children of the families living inside the Racecourse in Nuwara Eliya. Organised and conducted by the Royal Turf Club (RTC) in Nuwara Eliya, the programme will be an open event for families within the racecourse. The main objective of this event is to share love, joy and care among those who are in need, while also opening doors to those who wish to participate and share the day with the deserving children. The children will be treated with a day’s activity and gifts.

“The pandemic and adverse weather conditions in Nuwara Eliya have affected many families and only made it hard for most of them to celebrate Christmas. To light up and be joyful, Royal Turf Club is prepared to celebrate Christmas with these beloved children. Christmas will be more meaningful when we share our kindness generously by offering a hand to families in hardship,” issuing a statement, the RTC President, said.

The programme will be conducted, mainly for the children of the families at the Racecourse, but RTC will willingly accept generous contributions from the horse racing fraternity of Sri Lanka, who are eager to be a part of this worthy cause.

The day’s proceedings will commence at 9.30am and is expected to wind up by 3.30pm with many activities lined up. RTC is making all arrangements to conduct children’s games, interactive activities, meals and snacks to all children, in addition to gifts, toys, garments and more importantly school utensils
such as books, bags and stationary.

“Anyone willing to contribute, could do so by the form they wish, such as gifts, books and other ways. We at RTC believe these children are in great need of love and attention, during these hard times. As a responsible club, it is our duty to look into other areas too,” the statement added.

Intended participants and generous contributions could be forwarded or handed over to the RTC main office situated at the Racecourse in Nuwara Eliya or by visiting the official RTC facebook page.
