ICTA and J’pura University partner for Sri Lanka’s first on-campus medical centre
View(s):The University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) medical centre became the first-ever medical centre in a Sri Lankan higher education institute to benefit from the Hospital Health Management Cloud Service adoption.
HHIMS is yet another product from the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka, and it was deployed at the USJ medical centre in collaboration with the university’s Department of Computer Science.
This HHIMS adoption allows the medical centre to enjoy a bunch of benefits through its service enhancements. These include fully-fledged Electronic Health Record (EHR) services ranging from Patient Registrations, Appointment Queue Management, Diagnosis and Prescriptions in compliance with global standards for disease classifications, symptom registrations etc.
The treatment processes of patients and associated healthcare workflows have been streamlined and automated on the HHIMS platform.
The ceremonial launch of the system was held recently under the patronage of University Grant Commission (UGC) Chairman Sampath Amaratunge, USJ Vice Chancellor Sudantha Liyanage, ICTA CEO Mahinda B. Herath,
Health Ministry Health Information Director Palitha Karunapema, USJ Faculty of Medical Sciences Dean A. Aloka Pathirana and USJ Computer Science Department Head Prasad Jayaweera and many other distinguished guests.
