The partnership between Swinburne University of Technology and Nawaloka College of Higher Studies provides students with an accredited pathway programme with advanced standing into an approved Swinburne undergraduate degree.
Swinburne’s graduating student, Imashi Senanayake praised the Nawaloka College pathway programme and expressed excitement on graduating. She stated that she selected the Nawaloka College programme due to its unique progression opportunities, available facilities and excellent peer recommendations.
“Yesterday my dream came true!”
“Yesterday was finally the day I had been waiting for almost 12 months. I had the privilege to receive the Undergraduate University Medal for 2020. This gave me the opportunity to deliver the student speech and to be the first student mace bearer at a Swinburne graduation.
I was honoured to represent all the graduating Swinburne students of 2020. It was extra special to know that I had been selected amongst many other international and local students who were graduating from all over the world.
2020 was definitely a challenging period and getting to complete my Bachelors in the middle of everything along with all these achievements is something I will be really proud of for the rest of my life. I took all the free time I had due to lockdowns as a blessing in disguise and invested it towards my studies.
Every person has dreams of their own and mine was always to excel in my studies and to stand out, and I did it!” Dilini said with excitement.

Nawaloka College students undertake Foundation and/or Diploma programmes in Sri Lanka before transferring for a final two or three years to complete their Swinburne bachelor degree programme in Melbourne, Australia.
When asked how they found the transition to Swinburne Australia, it was stated by the new graduates that the transfer programme is probably the best way to enter, as you are already used to and are familiar with the Swinburne platforms before you arrive and that makes the transition much easier.
