‘Encounters’ the second exhibition presented by the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art opened on Friday, February 11 affording the public a look at works seldom seen. With paintings by George Keyt and Senaka Senanayake from the collections of the George Keyt Foundation and the John Keells Foundation as a starting point, the exhibition leads the viewer to an absorbing linkage with more contemporary works posing the question ‘can two artworks placed side by side reveal something new about each of them?’

Now on in the MMCA’s new home at the Crescat Mall in Colombo 3, the exhibition is open from Wednesdays to Sundays — 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Fridays till 8 p.m.  Accessible in all three languages the exhibition continues till end August.  For more information please see www.mmca-srilanka.org
