Ravindu, Pawantha slam double tons
An unbeaten double ton by Ravindu Rashantha and big hundred by Avishka Perera put Colts CC in the box seat against Kalutara TC on day two of the Major Club Emerging Tournament cricket encounter played at the Surrey Village ground in Maggona.
Responding to Kalutara TC’s first innings total of 125, Colts declared on 445 for 2 on the back of the marathon 395 run partnership between Ravindu and Avishka. Rashantha was unbeaten on 224 and hit 28 boundaries and two six in his 245 ball innings while Avishka had 25 boundaries in his 228 ball 172.
At stumps Kalutara TC were 91 for 3, trailed by 229 runs with seven wickets in hand to avoid an innings defeat.
Pawantha Weerasinghe too cracked an unbeaten double ton which included 23 boundaries for CCC in their match against Air Force SC played at Katunayake. The matches will be continued today.
