47th convocation of J’pura University this weekend
View(s):The University of Sri Jayewardenepura has revised vaccination guidelines issued to students attending its 47th convocation.
The convocation is due to be held in ten separate sessions at the BMICH in Colombo on February 26, 27 and 28 due to restrictions imposed on the number of attendees owing to the COVID-19 situation.
In letters issued to students on February 8 and notices posted on the university’s website on February 11, the prior to being granted entry into the main hall, it is mandatory for attendees to produce their vaccination cards proving they have taken both COVID-19 vaccine doses and the booster dose.
However, in a notice issued to students on February 15, the university said most graduates have informed the administration that they have so far not obtained the booster dose. As such, the instructions to attendees at the convocation have now been revised.
Accordingly, prior to being granted entry into the main hall, all attendees must present their vaccination cards proving they have obtained both doses of the COVID vaccine, or a negative Rapid Antigen Test Result taken within the past three days, an official from the university said.
All other COVID guidelines issued to attendees, including the mandatory wearing of facemasks and maintaining one metre distance, remain the same.
