SLTC wins an award at the Best Management Practices Company awards
View(s):Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) has been awarded top ten winner in Best Management Practices; Back to Business in the New Normal Awards 2022 organised by The Institute of Chartered Professional Managers Sri Lanka. The Best Management Practices Company awards ceremony was held at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo on 24th Feb 2022.
‘Best Management Practices; Back to Business in the New Normal Awards 2022” is an initiative of CPM Sri Lanka organised with the aim of sharing proven best practices of organisations for the years 2020 and 2021 demonstrating the feature of back-to-business resilience in the Covid 19 transition with the Sri Lankan business community whilst duly rewarding such worthy efforts, particularly under current tricky business and economic conditions at a global scale.
Launched in 2014 with the motive of realising Sri Lanka’s vision of becoming the knowledge hub in Asia, today SLTC has over 3000 students, 200 distinguished members of faculty & many state-of-the-art facilities. SLTC was also awarded the ‘Most Emerging Education Institute of the Year’ accolade at the South Asian Partnership Summit and Business Excellence Awards 2019. The same year, the university was recognised with the Merit Award Educational Service Centre and National Business Excellence Award, presented by the National Chamber of Commerce.
Despite this lockdown in Sri Lanka, SLTC was the first campus to continue uninterrupted education, conducting classes online for all its students following any of the twenty-four- world recognised degree programmes in Engineering, Technology, Professional Studies, Business, IT and Computing, Science and Music.
Some of the SLTC initiatives during the pandemic includes Public safety awareness campaigns, online academic delivery programmes, Career guidance webinars, virtual open days and information centres, programmes to promote research, entrepreneurship and innovation, encouragement programmes for students on continuation of education, online short courses, lateral entry initiatives for those who couldn’t continue their education due to covid restrictions, loan schemes and the “SLTC Thaksalawa programme” a series of lectures with help of over 50 teachers in both Sinhala and Tami Mediums which supported over 10,000 A/L students facing difficulties during the second wave of the pandemic.
