Grand Park Arena (GPA) hosted an Inter-House Cricket Tournament, in commemoration of its first year anniversary with the participation of four teams. The teams were GPA Vikings, GPA Gladiators, GPA Kings and GPA Warriors.

After the preliminary round matches, held over seven days, GPA Warriors and GPA Gladiators reached the finals at the Piliyandala Central College ground, with GPA Gladiators winning the title.

Shanil Perera of GPA Warriors was adjudged player of the tournament, while the title for best fielder was awarded to Thivisha Perera. Chelan Weerasinghe won the award for the best bowler while Kevin Gunaseela emerged the best batsman. The award for the best upcoming young cricketer was won by Inura Aken of GPA Vikings. All matches were played as 30-over per side games.

Grand Park Arenaisa is a state-of-the-art, modern indoor and outdoor sports complex located in the heart of the Piliyandala town.

Driven by their motto ‘Train Hard, Win Easy’, GPA is dedicated to champions who believe in the impossible. The facility opened doors on January 20 last year and has since been patronised by at least seven Division I Clubs, six Division III clubs, three schools, four cricket academies, nine Mercantile teams, two state service teams and four professional associations. The GPA Cricket Academy was launched on March 6, 2021 and attracted over 90 students in a span of 11 months.
