Armed with the most befitting theme “Educating Global citizens for the changing world” The FIRST FRIENDS CAMPUS Kandy had a memorable day on the 30th December 2021. That was when the campus hosted its graduation ceremony along with the 5th anniversary at the Golden Crown Hotel Kandy.
To grace the occasion the F.F.C had the good fortune of inviting Prof. Jayantha Lal Rathnasekara, The Vice-Chancellor of Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka as the Chief Guest. Prof. Jayantha Lal has had a brilliant academic career, and today his accomplishments are at its zenith reaching a great milestone. In his address, he enlightened the young graduands with inspiring words. He stressed that book knowledge alone would not suffice for university education. Thus he pointed out that Attitude, Skill, and Knowledge (ASK) should be integrated while reading for degrees and any other post graduate studies. His scholarly advice was well received by the student body. Additionally, we were blessed to have a very eminent academic Dr. Walter Senevirathne, the Head of the Department of Education at the University of Peradeniya as the Guest of Honor. He shared his experience and knowledge in the field of sports and the significance that should be rendered to this discipline. Furthermore, the Keynote Speaker was Miss. Gowri Rajan Group Director / CMO of Sun and Asoka Group of companies. She is a renowned speaker at many international forums and conferences. She highlighted some of her personal experience in the corporate sector which would have instilled in the young minds the way to achieve greater heights facing unforeseen challenges. She imparted the motto “Nothing is impossible”. Mr. Rohan Wijerathne the Managing Director / CEO of the campus, in his welcome speech, congratulated the performance of the students under such trying circumstances. His speech was very motivating and stimulating. Further, he was very proud of the accomplishments of all present at the graduation.

This was followed by many other speeches, some by members of this academic staff and others by students. The valedictorian was delivered by Abhisheka Rathnayake which highlighted her academic and social life at the campus.
Amidst these very profound academic features, on a lighter vein there was much entertainment by the students of the institution. There was dancing, singing, and melodious music to take away the seriousness of the event for a moment. These were enjoyed by all present. Furthermore, the décor was in keeping with the theme which added much color and meaning to the event.
The graduation was spectacular. The graduands attired in their Sunday best were full of smiles as they ascended the stage in cap and gown with pride to receive their honors. The parents all agog with excitement were delighted to witness the achievement of their progeny. Next, the anniversary and the graduation cake was cut by the chief guest and other distinguished participants.
The grand finale was wound up by
Mr. Harsha Nugawela Director of Admissions / Administration delivering the vote of thanks. He thanked everyone who gave their unstinted support to make this event a great success. Finally, everyone present was hosted to a sumptuous dinner. Thus, culminated the graduation ceremony of the FFC held with much pomp and pageantry
Now it is time for us to hark back and reminisce how we were able to achieve these great heights.
Situated in the cool climes of the Hill capital along Kuda Ratwatte Mawatha Katugastota the campus is in a very convenient locality for the students away from the hustle and bustle off the city and the maddening crowd. The premises offer a very calm environment conducive for academic work.
What are the disciplines
offered by the F.F.C?
We offer a variety of programs; the following disciplines are to our credit. We have a first degree Bachelors program in Business Management, Early Childhood Education, Hospitality and Tourism, Psychology, Information Technology and Engineering. We have taken great strides forward and now we offer Masters Programs in Business Management. Additionally we offer medical placements to SLMC (Sri Lanka Medical Council) recognized and approved universities in Belarus, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Australia and Georgia. A substantial number of students from FFC are studying at these universities at the moment. Furthermore an elaborate foundation course is conducted for a period of one year for those who do not have A/L qualifications. This qualification provides them the necessary pre-requisite to enter world recognized medical universities such as Belarus.
Besides these we offer Teacher Training programs to students who want to pursue their career in the teaching profession. They have the opportunity to greater heights reaching to be armed with a degree.
Another venture is we have signed a M.O.U with the British Council Kandy, this gives us the opportunity register students for IELTS Examination. We train students not only for the internationally acclaimed IELTS but also for other standardized examinations such as TOEFL, GRE, SAT, GMAT which provides the passport for foreign education. Our latest program started in the recent past was the Doctoral Programme for P.H.D students.
We have not forgotten the young adults who would like to excel in their speech and drama. Thus we have a program to train students to sit the examination held by Trinity College London. This is very popular among the elite.
A much sought after service provided by the FIRST FRIENDS CAMPUS is the direct placement for students in Australia, Canada, Belarus, UK and Singapore etc. There are many students who prefer to start their higher education in an International atmosphere. Thus this golden opportunity will undoubtedly empower students who wish to become high achievers in their chosen discipline.

FIRST FRIENDS CAMPUS is the only campus in the Central Province to a win two star and the three star award consecutively presented by the Department of Industrial Development and Enterprise promotion.
Our degree programs are from prestigious international bodies recognized by the University Grants Commission. Thus we are approved by TVEC (Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission). The singular most important fact is that all our programs are affiliated with universities recognized by the University Grants Commission. This facilitates the student to a great extent because they become high fliers in the job market. A glance at the life spent at the F.F.C. shows that, not only do we deliver quality education the students also have other social activities which lead them to become productive in their later life. We have a student council which provides recreational activities. Additionally the students organize fund raising project to help less fortunate students. Recently FFC won the education brand award at the Global Business and Finance Awards in 2021 and the only education institute in Sri Lanka to win it.
