CA Sri Lanka’s Corporate, Strategic and Case Study Exams attract more than 3900 students locally and overseas
View(s):The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) attracted 3909 students at the Corporate, Strategic and SL5 Case Study exams held in December 2021, with the SL5 Case Study Exam recording a pass rate of over 58%.
CA Sri Lanka’s Chartered Accounting programme is a popular qualification among youth who have successfully completed their GCE Advanced Level exam with a minimum of three simple passes from any subject stream. Students who aspire to embark on a winning career in finance and management are known to choose CA Sri Lanka to pursue their professional qualification, as it is also recognised as the preferred destination in the country for accounting education.

At the Corporate Level exam, CA Sri Lanka attracted a total of 2382 students, with a majority of the students sitting for the physical exam at centres in Colombo, Galle, Kandy, Kurunegala and Jaffna, while CA Students residing overseas in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Maldives, Australia, and New Zealand joined the exam virtually.
A total of 1321 aspiring Chartered Accountants sat for the Strategic Level exam, which was also held as a physical exam in Colombo, Galle, Kandy, Kurunegala and Jaffna, while students residing overseas sat for the exam virtually.
A total of 206 students sat for the SL5 Case Study exam which was held as a physical exam for students in Sri Lanka, while aspiring Chartered Accountants studying and working overseas joined the exam virtually.
Three students won subject prizes at the December 2021 Corporate and Strategic Level exam, with Sanduni Gawravi Pigera winning the Financial Reporting and Governance subject prize under the Corporate Level, while Ashvini Kumari Panamaldeniya won the Corporate Law subject prize. Under the Strategic Level, ChandrasegaranShabilnath won the Corporate Taxation subject prize.
At a ceremony held at CA Sri Lanka, the prize winners were awarded certificates for their exceptional performance at the corporate and strategic Level exams by CA Sri Lanka President Mr. Sanjaya Bandara, in the presence of council members Ms. Anoji De Silva, Mr. Saman Srilal, Chief Executive Officer Ms. Dulani Fernando and Director Examinations Mr. Prasanna Liyanage.
