JISR- Munich ensemble brings vibrant sounds to Colombo
View(s):From the Isar to the Mahaweli , JISR // BRÜCKE plays music on its way like a caravan moving in the moonlight, passing through the musical cultures of the South Asian continent. For the first time after the pandemic invaded our lives, a musical group from Germany will be visiting Sri Lanka to perform a live show.
They will perform at the Nuga Stage of the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute on Tuesday, March15 at 7 p.m. bringing their vibrant sounds to a local audience.
Their tour of Sri Lanka is courtesy of the Goethe Institut.
The group’s repertoire of musical influences is considerable: from Arabic classical music and poetry to African Gnawa grooves and German Krautrock, Balkan, Jazz, Tango and Andalusian Flamenco.
Invitations are available at the Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka, 39, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7. The concert is free of charge but limited seating is on offer due to the COVID restrictions.
