Lyceum felicitates medal-winning swimmer Galina

To appreciate and congratulate the remarkable achievements of exceptional sportsmanship, dedication and talent, a felicitation ceremony was organised to praise Galina Basnayake, the Asian Paralympic gold medalist and proud product of Lyceum International School, Wattala.
Galina’s impressive milestones in her recent swimming career includes three gold medals in Women’s 400m, 50m and 100m Freestyle events followed by the silver medal in Women’s 100m Butterfly event at the Asian Youth Para Game 2021.
Principal Stella Anton, Director of Sports Sameera Hewage, Head of Sports Komalatharan Sinnathamby, Warden Sri Lal Premarathne, and all sectional heads from Pre-Primary to Grade 12 of Lyceum International School, Wattala were present along with Sports Department staff to be a part of and witness this event.
All Lyceumers were gathered on the balcony while Galina was escorted by the Head Prefects and Games Prefects of the school. Galina’s coach and swimming consultant, the renowned Sri Lankan swimming champion Julian Bolling was also felicitated at this ceremony.
