ANC Career Fair 2022
View(s):Choosing a prospective career is the next big step for students who complete their higher studies. However, many find it a challenge to find a career of their choice in highly competitive environments that span across all sectors. This is why ANC promotes international standard educational qualifications with work experience to ensure that graduates enter the job market with an advantage. Accordingly, ANC has introduced the Guaranteed Paid Student Internship (GPSI) programme which includes a 6-12 month internship requirement during the final year of a degree programme.
At the recently concluded ANC Career Fair 2022 held for the fourth consecutive year, students and graduates were presented with an ideal opportunity to meet representatives from various companies, hotels, banks and corporate institutions. The representatives interviewed students while providing career guidance to prepare them for future openings.
The event witnessed the participation of several leading multinational companies, hotels, banks and conglomerates including MAS Silueta, MAS Capital, MAS Bodyline, MAS Intimates, MAS Active, MAS Aqua, MAS Kreeda, Colombo Stock Exchange, Hilton, Dialog, Kayjay Electronics Pvt. Ltd., Standard Chartered Bank, DFCC Bank, Seylan Bank, CAFS, Daraz, Rumex, Union Assurance, Deep Haven Counseling, ANC, Fonterra and Olanka Travels etc, accounting for 30 plus corporate options for ANC students.
Over 150 students were able to gain insights about their career prospects and believe that ANC made it easier for them to seek for career opportunities. “The Career Fair was a great opportunity to understand the corporate world. It gave us a good start to look for future career prospects. All companies had something to offer with regards to the degrees we pursue,” said Krishakar Prabaharan, a senior student from Northwood University Degree completion programme in dual major in International Business and Business Management.
“The Career Fair was a good opportunity for us to get an idea about future job placements,” said Vishaali Thiruchelvanathan, a student in her third semester following Advanced Diploma programme in Business program at ANC Branch Campus Colombo. “Usually students have to tire themselves to find internships but ANC has lifted that burden off our shoulders. The representatives from different corporates, banks etc., spoke to us well and influenced us to look for careers of our choice.”
