‘Ambulance’ Action thriller on two adoptive siblings turned bank robbers
View(s):Famed for his earlier directions ‘Armageddon’ (1998), ‘Pearl Harbor’ (2001) and the Transformers series filmmaker and producer Michael Bay’s newest action thriller ‘Ambulance’ is now being screened in theatres in Colombo and outstation.
Made based on the 2005 Danish film of the same name, ‘Ambulance’ stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Eiza González in the stellar cast.
‘Ambulance’ follows two adoptive siblings turned bank robbers who steal an ambulance occupied by a paramedic and a police officer in critical condition.
Decorated veteran Will Sharp (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), in desperate need of $231,00 to cover his wife’s medical bills, asks for help from the one person he knows he shouldn’t—his adoptive brother Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal). A dangerous career criminal, Danny instead offers him a score: the biggest bank heist in Los Angeles history: $32 million. With his wife’s survival on the line, Will can’t say no.
But when their getaway takes a turn for the absolute worst, the desperate brothers hijack an ambulance with a wounded cop clinging to life and ace EMT Cam Thompson (Eiza González) onboard. In a high-speed pursuit that never stops, Will and Danny must evade a massive, city-wide law enforcement response, keep their hostages alive, and somehow try not to kill each other, all while executing the most insane escape L.A. has ever seen.
‘Ambulance’ is now being screened at Liberty by Scope Cinemas, Colombo City Center ATMOS, PVR Colombo 2, Majestic Superior Cinema, Regal Dematagoda, Vista Lite, Amity Lite and other theatres around the country. (SF)
