Sharujan Shanmuganathan shone with a fine 82 for St Benedict’s in their drawn annual James Cartman Trophy encounter against Wesley concluded at Campbell Park yesterday.
In reply to Wesley’s 218, Bens scored 234 with Shanmuganathan stealing the limelight. He also shared a valuable 87-run stand for the seventh wicket Dilan Thabrew. Wesley were 162 for 8 in the second essay when the stumps were called.

Mahinda Rajapakse National School Homagama came out victorious against Defence Services College Colombo by 58 runs in their inaugural big match encounter played at the Police Park.
Maneth Muthsada and Sanka Yashodana were the match winners for Mahinda Rajapakse NS with Maneth bagging two of the four awards that was on offer. Maneth was adjudged the best batsman and man-of-the-match while Kavindu Gimhana of Defence Services College and Janul Ranjula of Mahinda Rajapakse NS taking best bowler and fielders awards.
