Children of estate workers invited to apply for scholarships
View(s):The Indian High Commission has invited applications from the children of estate workers, for scholarships by the Ceylon Estate Workers’ Education Trust (CEWET).
These scholarships are available for G.C.E. Advanced Level, undergraduate courses and for students undergoing vocational and technical education in any Government Technical Colleges in Sri Lanka, the Indian High Commission said.
Students who have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level exams, with a minimum of six credit passes, or the G.C.E. Advanced Level exams and is below 25 years of age are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
The application forms must be attached with photocopies of birth certificate, result sheet of G.C.E O/L or A/L exams, latest salary slip of parents and Estate Superintendent’s certificate regarding parent’s occupation. Application forms can be downloaded from the High Commission of India, Colombo website www.hcicolombo.gov.in.
Application forms can also be obtained from the High Commission of India at 36-38, Galle Road, Colombo-03 and the Assistant High Commission of India at 1A, Mahamaya Mawatha, P.O. Box 47, Kandy.
The duly completed forms should reach the Honorary Secretary, CEWET c/o High Commission of India, P.O. Box 882, Colombo-03 on or before April 29.
