New chancellor for the University of Peradeniya
View(s):Prof G.H. Peiris has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya. He received his letter of appointment from President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Friday.
He passed out from Peradeniya University with a First Class Honours in Geography in 1960 and went on to complete a doctorate at Cambridge University in 1965.
He subsequently joined Peradeniya University as an assistant lecturer and has served the university for 44 years.
He has carried out extensive research on political changes in countries.
