Oshini Gunawardhana victorious at National Youth Chess Championship 2022

Oshini Gunawardhana of Wycherley International School, Colombo grabbed yet another title, winning the Under-10 Open category at the National Youth Chess Championship 2022 organised by the Chess Federation of
Sri Lanka.
Oshini is the only female participant to have claimed a title in the Under-10 Open category. Oshini also earn the spotlight at many occasions during the past few months. She is the current world champion in the Under-10 category, which she won at the FIDE World Youth Chess Championship.
She also claimed the first runner-up position at the Women’s National (Major Division) Chess Championship (Western Province) Sri Lanka 2022. Oneli also won the award for the Outstanding School Sports Personality of the Year At the Silk Sports Awards.
As an upcoming talented chess player, she has the potential of reaching the top and making her motherland proud.
