Gateway to Introduce Artificial Intelligence curriculum through AIClub – USA Partnershi
View(s):With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution and a new wave of globalisation where technological breakthroughs are defining and disrupting boundaries of economy, state, and the world of work, students need to be adept at a host of new technologies, to stay abreast. As such, Gateway’s model of holistic learning, coupled with integrated and focused STEM education, sets the school apart. STEM is the abbreviation for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and encompasses a vast array of subjects that fall into each of these fields.
STEM education has been a part of Gateway’s science curriculum for over five years and the school also offers specialised programmes on robotics, encourages design thinking through their Innovation Labs and provides students with facilities such as Maths Labs and ICT Labs to further their mission of providing future ready students.
As the latest addition into their repertoire, Gateway recently signed up with AIClub, a USA based institution led by Computer Science PhDs from top US universities who have together many decades of industry and research experience in AI and software. Past students of this programme have created thousands of AI powered applications and won 43 international competitions since 2019.
Dr.Nisha Talagala, CEO & Founder of AIClub states that Artificial Intelligence is all around us and is expected to be a requirement for many jobs across the globe. This programme brings AI to students using a unique learning approach (the 4C’s) which combines AI concepts, context of how AIs are used worldwide, the capability and skills to build AIs and creative applications for students to create their own AI projects.
Dr Alles, Chairman of Gateway Group explaining the reason behind this initiative says, ‘Artificial Intelligence is one of the most transformative technologies of our generation. We want our students to differentiate themselves by solving real world problems and applying creative solutions through this programme that would give them a head start to the jobs of the future.’
The curriculum covers AI, Coding and App development as well as integrations with Internet of Things. Students learn how to build, measure, and improve AIs. They learn Python coding to create apps and apply data science. They also learn how to combine the AI technology with websites and mobile apps to create impactful solutions to a wide range of problems (example: healthcare, environment and product recommendations).
