Visakha and Joes claim 46th National Age Group Championships

Visakha Vidyalaya and St. Joseph’s College, Colombo once again proved they are yet to be conquered in the waters when they easily clinched the winners of the 46th National Age Group Championships, at the Sugathadasa Swimming Pool Complex last weeken.

The Visakhians, in a consistent run of swimming, scored an overall 354, and the Joes went up to 556 points. The four-day event, apart from the usual suspects, also saw the emergence of new found faces.

Though from the past years, the meet turn up had dropped drastically, last Saturday, seeing an attendance of 600 to 800, still did see enough energy and enthusiasm in the final events. In support and cheering too, the Darley Road lads roared with their voices.
