Royal trounce hapless Kingswood
Royal College thrashed a hapless and torn out Kingswood College team by 53-0 in their Dialog Schools Rugby League Championship 2022 match played at the Royal Sports Complex yesterday. Royal, one of the favourites to win the schools rugby plum this season, was far too superlative for a Kingswood side that is rather below par their usual form.
Royal led the halftime 33-0 and went on to score from eight tries, six conversions and penalty, while earning bonus points to have hopes high in moving forward with the remainders of the tournament games.
Centre Pasindu Heshan and winger Hasnaka Higgodage scored two twice each for the winners, while No.8 Naveen Perera, prop Shenal Adhikaram, winger Hasnaka Higgodage, lock Rahil Wijesekara and forward Supun Gamlathge braced a try each. Fullback Nabeel Yahiya was successful in putting over six of the tries and a penalty that came in favour of Royal.
