Monash University Partners with Prospects College for Early Childhood and Primary Education Degree Pathway
View(s):Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, recently entered into a partnership with Prospects College of Higher Education (PCHE) to provide a credit transfer pathway for students who have successfully completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, awarded by Prospects College of Higher Education (PCHE). Under this articulation agreement, students will receive credit transfer for six modules for the Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education awarded by Monash University.
Commenting on this partnership, the Managing Director of Prospects College of Higher Education (PCHE) Somesh Perera stated: “We have developed a reputation as a leading provider of Early Childhood Education qualifications in Sri Lanka. Our Diploma programmes are recognised by several leading universities in Australia. We are proud to be associated with Monash University, and we believe that this partnership will provide a valuable opportunity for students of PCHE to obtain an internationally recognised Bachelor’s degree in early childhood and primary education from Monash University, whilst saving considerably on tuition and living expenses.”

Graduates of the course will be qualified to teach in both early childhood and primary education settings. There is currently strong demand for early childhood teachers who can foster the learning and key capabilities of young children at a critical stage in their development, and this is projected to increase over the next few years.”
There is a growing demand for Early Childhood Educators throughout Australia and the industry is projected to further increase until 2025. It is also expected that the number of those employed as Child Careers will increase substantially by 30 per cent between 2021 and 2025, making graduates of the Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education degree, highly sought-after candidates. Early childhood educators in Australia earn between AUD$65,000-90,000 per year.
