Curtin University Launches Curtin Colombo
View(s):Curtin University is proud to announce that it will soon be launching Curtin Colombo to offer its innovative courses to students in Sri Lanka and the region. Curtin Colombo will be the latest addition to Curtin University’s global operations that comprise campuses in Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, and Mauritius in addition to its main campus in Perth in Western Australia.
In recent years, Curtin University has established itself among the top one per cent of universities worldwide in the highly regarded Academic Ranking of World Universities 2022. Curtin was also ranked in the world’s top one percent of universities in the QS World University Rankings 2023; Curtin is proud to be one of only five universities in Australia and 20 in the world to achieve a QS Five Stars Plus rating, the highest available for a tertiary institution.
Curtin Colombo will offer Curtin University degrees in Engineering and Computing that the students may complete in Sri Lanka; students also have the option of transferring to Curtin Perth in Western Australia or to any of the Curtin international branch campuses around the world. This flexibility allows students to explore multiple destinations and cultures during the course of their degree.
The Computing degree programmes at Curtin Colombo include Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Technology, and Computer Systems and Networking while the Engineering degree programmes on offer include Civil and Construction Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronic Engineering. The curriculum, learning experiences, and course delivery will be highly responsive to the changing needs of industry and careers.
The orientation programme for the Curtin Colombo’s next intake is scheduled for commencement in October 2022 at the brand-new Curtin Colombo Campus at Nawam Mawatha. Considering the situation in the country, Curtin University has offered a 25% fee scholarship for the first year of study for students enrolling in the next intake.
