‘Tribute To The Legendary Clarence Wijewardena’ on DVD

The Concert ‘Tribute To The Legendary Clarence Wijewardena’ was the talk of the town in the December last year at the height of Covid Pandemic. Most of the Clarence fans were not able to attend this concert due to the restrictions.
But this he spectacular concert ‘Tribute to the Legendary Clarence Wijewardena’ held on 13th December 2021 at the picturesque Nelum Pokuna is now available on DVD. Tribute To Clarence is the musical journey of the godfather of Sinhala Pop who revolutionised Sri Lankan music during the late 60’s and features 25 living legends who originally sang his creations in commemorating his 25th death anniversary.

While the legendary emcees Vijaya Corea and Ariyasiri Withanage unfolds the hidden facts of Sinhala Pop, 25 songs from the concert are now unfold in a DVD format. ‘ Mango Nanda’ , by Annesley Malawana, Indrani Perera – s, Anil Bharethi – , Shyami Fonseka – a, Sanath Nandasiri – , Malkanthi/Sanath – a, Lilanthi Karunanayake – , Priyankara Perera – , Punsiri Soyza – , Lankika Perera – , Chandani Hettiarachchi – , Menik Chandrika – , Lalith Ponnamperuma – , George Senanayaka – , Rohana Siriwardana – , Dezmond Rodrigo – , Vernon Perera – a, Dhammika Bandara – , Saman De Silva – , Athula Adikari – , Walter Fernando – a, Ranil Mallawarachchi – , T. M. Jayaratna – , Thisara Fdo/Indrani – , Rajiv Sebastian – a are some of the hits which are performed to the backing of RAJIV AND THE CLAN and choreographed by the glamorous Gayani karunarathne of Gayani Dance Studio.
Most of the artists perform in medley form with their most popular hits to accomodate as much as 50 songs in entertaining the crazy Sri Lankan music loving public.

Rajiv had made arrangements to present the first two copies of the DVD ‘Tribute To The Legendary Clarence Wijewardena’ to his wife Mrs. Sheela Wijewardena and their only daughter Ms. Amila Wijewardena in Melbourne, Australia last week at a special event featuring Annesley Malawana and Indrani Perera.
The concept, artist coordination and music arrangements of this masterpiece is the brainchild of the singer, composer, showman Rajiv Sebastian CEO of Rajiv And The Clan and Starlanka Music.
