Left-arm spin duo Wanuja Sahan and Mohammad Irfan combined with effect to steer Ace Capital record a convincing win of an innings and 22 runs over Air Force and guide their side to the second outright win of the SLC Major Club Cricket Tournament with a day to spare in the match concluded at Welisara yesterday.

The pair shared 16 wickets with Sahan ending with a match bag of 11 for 99 runs while Irfan ended with a five-wicket haul. On the second day, resuming from their overnight score of 20-4, Air Force were bundled out for 80 runs which forced them to follow on. This was in reply to Ace Capital’s first innings total of 312. Fighting to erase a deficit of 232 runs, the Airmen were bowled out again for 210 as Sahan grabbed seven scalps.

Ahan Wickramasinghe slammed an unbeaten knock of 234 runs, inclusive of 19 boundaries and nine sixes to help NCC record a grand recovery against Saracens at Braybrooke Place. Matches will continue today.
