Over ten old boys’ and old girls’ schools each will come together in a soft-ball six-a-side cricket tournament to be played at the St. Peter’s College grounds on October 9 from 7.00a.m. Hosted by the Old Pupils of St. Paul’s Girls’ School, Milagiriya, titled as the Battle of the Queens, it would also see the tournament being played amongst the schools, after the inaugural year was played as an intra-school version.
Old boys’ also joining in this year, will be playing as friendly encounters. The tournament would be worked off to raise awareness amongst the ladies and for funds for the betterment of the hosting school.
St. Paul’s Girls’ School Milagiriya, Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Devi Balika Vidyalaya,
St. Bridget’s Convent, Lindsay Girls’ School, Ladies’ College, Anula Vidyalaya, Musaeus College, Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya, Methodist College and Samudra Devi Balika Vidyalaya have been lined up to compete in the Girls’ Schools segment.
The boys’ schools in contention are Ananda, Thurstan, Royal, Isipathana, D.S. Senanayake, Mahanama, Nalanda, St. Peter’s Bambalapitiya,
St. John’s Nugegoda, Lumbini, Prince of Wales’ Moratuwa, St. Benedict’s and Zahira colleges.
