Launch of the Toybox Children’s Storybook Series

The first two books in the new series of children’s books – The Toybox – was launched on Saturday the 8th of October 2022 at the Sarasavi Bookshop, One Galle Face, Colombo.
Children and Young Adult author, Ruth Dinushi Mohotti, launched the books and the Toybox series as part of the past celebrations of International Literacy Day in September themed, “Transforming Literacy Learning Spaces”.
This book series is a publication of The Jam Fruit Tree Publications: Book one – ‘Pricks joins the Toybox’ and Book Two – ‘Ellie and the Invisible Ink’, both emphasise the values of kindness, patience, love, courage, and friendship, just to name a few. These stories on values and friendship are visible in all the upcoming books of the series and best suited for readers under 10 years old.
Parents of young readers are encouraged to follow the Tippy Toe Readers pages on Facebook and Instagram to get access to book recommendations and reading content. Ruth Dinushi Mohotti is also the current Lions Club International District 411A Region Officer for promoting Children’s literacy in the Seychelles and will be initiating online events.
Copies of both books each priced at LKR 700, are currently on sale at the Jam Fruit Tree bookshop, Colombo and at the Sarasavi Bookshops.
