View(s):Ed Sheeran in the charts with ‘Celestial’
Ed Sheeran led the way for new entries on the UK singles chart this week with his new release ‘Celestial’. The upbeat song is accompanied by a part live and part animated video. Sheeran collaborated with the Pokemon Company for the song that will appear on the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Games. ‘Celestial’ which a stand-alone track is the third top 10 hit by Sheeran this year. His own track ‘’2Step’ featuring Lil Baby peaked at No: 9 in April while in August, he was the featured artist on the track ‘My G’ by Aitch which peaked at No: 6. Meanwhile Ed Sheeran gave surprise performance in hometown of Ipswich on the steps of the Town Hall in Suffolk on October 7 after short notice on social media. Her purchased a guitar at local shop and performed. At the conclusion Sheeran autographed the guitar and gave it to a 10-year-old boy.
Bono takes a tour to launch memoirs
Bono the frontman of U2 will undertake a tour of a different kind. The 62-year-old is launching his memoirs titled Surrender: 40 Songs One Story on November 2. The tour backed by Live Nation will see Bono tour theatres starting in New York in the US and Canadian cities followed by the UK and Ireland and ending in Madrid, Spain on 28th November. 40 chapters are named after U2 songs will also contain original drawings by the Irish musician.
Olly Murs to release latest album in December
Olly Murs is to release his first album in four years titled ‘Marry Me’ on December 2. ‘Die Of A Broken Heart’ has been released as the first single from the 11-track album. Murs is planning a tour of the UK between April 22 and May 6. He signed a new recording deal with EMI last August. The singer serves as a coach on the current series The Voice UK, which commenced last month.
Beyonce scores second entry on the UK singles top chart
Beyonce scored the second entry on the UK singles top chart this week with ‘Cuff It’ the second single taken of her album ‘Renaissance’. The disco punk track has the input of Nile Rodgers and samples Teena Marie’s 1988 release ‘Ooo La La La’. ‘Cuff It’ took 10 weeks to reach the top 10 after it began its journey at 14. The track suffered a gradual decline for six weeks when it was revived gaining ground till it crossed over from 14 to No: 10 this week. Beyonce’s last single ‘Break My Soul’ peaked at No: 2 last June.
