Extra holiday for Tamil schoolchildren
View(s):The Government has announced that all Tamil schools will be granted an extra holiday for the Deepawali festival falling next week.
Accordingly all Tamil schools will be closed on Tuesday. However in lieu of the day the schools are scheduled to be opened next Saturday (October 29). The holiday was granted because most children do not attend school after the festival celebrations take place, the Education State Minister said.
