High achieving graduate development officers to assist principals
View(s):Those who obtained highest marks at the exam held for graduate development officers will be deployed to schools to assist principals, Education Minister Susil Premjayantha said.
He said top scorers among graduate development officers will be required to get involved in office documentation work giving more time for principals to supervise academic and education development activities within school premises.
The Minister said this at “Guru Prathibha 2022”, a recent event held to felicitate exemplary principals and teachers.
Mr. Premjayantha said the education sector will see transformations next year such as the introduction of English starting from grade one classes to streamlining administration work in the field of education.
According to the Minister, it has been observed that students in primary grades are backward in their studies as they missed physical classes due to the pandemic. He said an accelerated programme will be activated to strengthen literacy among primary students.
