Female vet in remand over missing animal skulls

The Mount Lavinia Chief Magistrate  Nirosha Fernando today ( June11) remanded veterinary surgeon Ramani Kanthi Jayalath and a minor employee in connection with the disappearance of three animal skulls from the National Zoological Gardens.

The Police said they recovered leopard's teeth which were found in the vet's office.

Investigations into the missing animal skulls commenced when the Director of the Zoological Gardens in Dehiwela filed a complaint on Saturday that skulls of a tiger, lion a jaguar had gone missing.

The female veterinary surgeon will be held in remand till tomorrow (June 12).
