Colombo shares on Tuesday managed to remain in the green during most of the trading, amidst some intra – day volatility yet closed on a mixed note with a marginal drop in the All Share Price Index (ASPI), analysts said.
They said the drop in value in illiquid players including Bukit Dharah and Ceylon Tobacco primarily weighed on ASPI but the gains recorded in Lanka Orix Leasing, JKH and Sampath Bank assisted the liquid Milanka to close the day with a marginal (5 point) gain.
The ASPI dropped marginally by 3.83 index points (-0.08%) to close at 4,807.55 and sensitive Milanka Index gained marginally by 4.87 points (+0.11%) to close at 4,269.25 on a daily market turnover of Rs.242.4 million.
