Four persons including a woman were arrested while attempting to sell-off fake gold nuggets to an unsuspecting businessman at Medirigiriya yesterday, police said today (June, 14). Following the arrest police were able to recover from the group 472 tiny nuggets that later turned out to be steels balls cleverly coated with gold water. The suspects had told the businessman that the nuggets were an ancient treasure find at a location in Kandy. The suspects are residents of Puttalam, police said.
