Police were today hunting for a hit and run motorist who killed two persons including an infant and injured nine others at Jampettah Street in Kotahena on Wednesday night. The suspect driver who is currently on the run had smashed into a tent packed with pilgrims who were visiting the Catholic Shrine of St Anthony on its annual feast. The victims, all of the same family had traveled into the city from Rakwana, police said. The dead woman was identified as K. Parameshwari, 46 while the eight-month-old girl child was not named.
