‘Rock en Fête’, part of Sri Lanka’s French Spring celebrations, saw the island’s premier metal band Stigmata and French rock band Success take to the stage at the BMICH last Saturday.
Stigmata were up first performing to a wildly enthusiastic crowd. The band has established a firm foundation for the rock metal scene in Sri Lanka, and managed to keep an entire audience on its feet throughout their electrifying performance. They were followed by the four-man French group Success, an avant-garde rock band from Europe.
The concert was one of many that are made open to the public free of charge as part of the French Spring celebrations from the 15th to the 24th of June 2012. The event is organized by the Embassy of France, Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Culture and the Arts, BMICH, and a host of other French and Sri Lankan institutions as a mark of the strong diplomatic relations and amicable cooperation between the two countries.
