Premier's plane
in emergency landing
A SriLankan Airlines flight carrying Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe
from Colombo to London made an emergency landing in Dubai due to
technical problems.
The airbus A-340
which left Colombo early yesterday, landed in Dubai.
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe who embarked on a tour of Britain
was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Tony Blair. Following the emergency
landing the PM was transferred to another flight to Zurich.
SriLankan Airlines
sent another flight from Colombo to Dubai, to take the rest of the
passengers to London. Passengers aboard the airbus A-340 were given
temporary accommodation in hotels.
