Sajith Priyadarshana bags five table tennis titles

Fourteen-year-old P.G.H.Sajith Priyadharshana of Sri Devananda College
Ambalangoda was in terrefic form when he bagged five titles at the
Sixth Open Southern Table Tennis tournament conducted by the Dharmasoka
Table Tennis Association held at the Fisheries Indoor Complex recently.
Sixteen schools
in the southern province participated in this tournamnet. Sajith
Priyadharshana was adjudged the best player of the tournament.

Murali
signs new management deal
The world's newest International Cricketer of the Year 2001-2002
and better known as Sri Lanka's spin magician has another reason
for calling Australia his second home.
Muttiah Muralitharan the youngest ever bowler in the history of
Test-Cricket to take 400 test wickets has signed with Melbourne's
new management company QAd Management a day prior to his departure
to join his teammates in England.
Although he
may not bowl for at least a month Muralitharan left Melbourne happier
than when he arrived as he had made many new friends in Australia
this time around.
In Melbourne for treatment for his injuries sustained recently he
was a welcome guest on many of Australia's TV Shows and 'Charmed'
the local audiences with his winning smile and polite frankness.
'Murali was
fantastic, and is welcome back..' said one TV host after the show
concluded and another added... "He can come back on this show
anytime he likes...'
Alston Koch of QAD Management who was with 'Murali'. (As he is affectionately
called) during his live performance on Australia's top rating current
affairs show on Channel 10 'The Panel" said he was elated when
the other guests in the 'Green room' applauded Murali when he walked
in after his segment on the show.

de Zylva M.B.B.S., F.R.C.P., F.R.A.C.P., Consultant Physician and
renowned entrepreneur David Cruse make up the rest of QAD Management
who also draw from a large advisory board of prominent Lawyers,
Bankers and Entrepreneurs.
Muttiah Muralitharan also becomes the youngest cricketer to put
pen to paper for his first book to be released in the near future
via pen QAD management titled 'Against All Odds'.
Record entries for Travel Trade
soccer, netball

The Annual Travel Trade soccer sevens and netball championships
will be held on June 2 2002 at the Shalika Grounds in Narahenpita
starting from 8.30 in the morning. The championships is sponsored
by Sri Lankan Airlines Commercial Division who have come forward
for the first time to sponsor these events.
Twenty five
teams will vie for the soccer title while thirteen teams will fight
it out in the netball championship. Netball is being revived after
a lapse of five years. The draw for both the soccer and netball
championships was held at the Holiday Inn and the sponsorhip package
was also handed over.
Last years soccer
champions Grand Oriental Hotel, Nuwara Eliya is a notable absentee.
And the runner up Sri Lankan Airlines is the top seed. Special awards
will be given for the best goalkeeper, highest goal scorer, most
promising player, most outstanding player and most valuable player.
While special awards will also be given for the best defence, best
attack and most outstanding player in the netball championship.
The soccer teams
are divided into top half and bottom half are: Top half- Sri Lankan
Airlines, Taj Exotica, Bejaya Mt Royal, Palm Garden & Confifi
Management, Riverina, Pegasus Reef Hotel, Jaic Hilton, Airport Garden,
The Traveller, Galadari Hotel, N-Car, Neptune.
Bottom half-
Golden Sun, Blue Oceanic, Seashells, Kandalama, Le Kandyan, Grand
Oriental, Trans Asia, Taj Samudra, Confifi Beach & Eden, Hemas
Travels, World Air, Air Club, Hilton Colombo.
The thirteen
netball teams are divided into four groups.

Confifi Management & Eden, Kandalama, Aitken Spence, N-Car Travels.
