Enhancing its
international image
In a bid to enhance its international image the JVP has created
a new post of Secretary International Affairs among other new appointments
made at the recently concluded party convention.
The international
campaign which was handled by party leader Somawansa Amerasinghe
is to be expanded with the appointment of MP Vijitha Herath as Secretary
International Affairs.
Vijitha Herath
and K.D. Lal Kantha have been appointed to the Politburo. Changes
have also been made to the Central Committee with the inclusion
of Chamira Koswatte, President of the Student Union. Other new members
are Priyankara Weerakumara and R. Chandrasekar.
The Central
Committee members are Somawansa Amerasinghe, Tilvin Silva, Wimal
Weerawansa, Nandana Gunathilake, Anura Dissanayake, G. Kularatne,
Chandrasena Wijesinghe, Vijitha Herath, K.D. Lal Kantha, Nihal Galappathy,
Dimuthu Attygala, Sunil Handunetti, Bimal Ratnayake, Jinadasa Kitulegoda,
S.K. Subasinghe, R. Chandrasekar, Priyankara Weerakumara and Chamira
Koswatte.
Politburo members

The office bearers

Tilvin Silva, Propaganda Secretary Wimal Weerawansa, Treasurer Anura
Dissanayake, Education Secretary Nandana Gunathilake, Administration
Secretary Chandrasena Wijesinghe, Party Organiser G. Kularatne and
International Affairs Secretary Vijitha Herath.
