Rauff may need lot of luck to survive and do a comeback
My Dear Rauf,
I thought I should write to you, considering the difficult times you are in these days with almost everyone questioning your popularity, your ability to lead and your right to represent those whom you claim to represent.

It must be a far cry from the days when you declared that it was you who decided who would rule the country next. At that time though, that was the way it was.

We remember how you proved your point by walking out on Satellite plunging her regime into crisis and eventually forcing them out of power. I cannot but help think that Satellite must somehow be very satisfied with the difficulties you are facing now!

You may remember how you threatened to walk out of a swearing-in ceremony of ministers because you didn't get the job you wanted. Poor old Reggie had to then hand over to you what was assigned to him to save Satellite from embarrassment. That was how powerful you were because you controlled a handful of MPs who somehow held the balance of power.

You carried on regardless, and no one could take you to task because your support was crucial for their survival.

And we also remember how you demanded that you be included in the team that talked to the Tigers, claiming that you were indeed the sole representative of your brethren.

Even that demand was more or less granted though the Tigers insisted that you be part of the Green team rather than a spokesman for a community.

Now however, Rauff, the wheel seems to have turned full circle. Instead of claiming to be a representative of your brethren, people are questioning your eligibility to represent your own party.

And what's more, instead of your dictating terms and dividing the greens and the blues the Green Man has to intervene in your fights.

But then, Rauff, you are no stranger to party fights. We cannot forget the fact that when your former leader suddenly died in that helicopter crash, you were at odds with him. And indeed you are still not on the best of terms with the lady who wanted to succeed your late leader.

But that is the way how politics works and I am sure you are aware of that. Despite your current problems I am sure you will find a way not only to survive but also to make a comeback. I just hope that if and when you do that, you treat your friends and rivals with due respect instead of saying that you are the "sole representative" and that it is you who decides on who the future rulers of the country would be.

For the moment though we wish you the best of luck, because you will be needing all of that and more to survive in the days to come.

Yours truly,

Punchi Putha.

PS- We must also hope that now that the Northern war may soon be over, there would be no Eastern war replacing it. Can you give us that assurance, Rauff?
