Chef Jean Pierre Paillier: Food from all over the world Pix by J. Weerasekera

Le Palace is definitely an experience. It is an escape from the bland, and the common, an adventure into the wonders of culinary art.

You can bite into their lobster pizza or their prawn tartlets, or indulge in the batter fried prawns, or chicken pate on toast. And when you do, you will never want to leave. This is perfection, you may think. You can snack on Cold Cut Lamb with Ghee and lick the flavour off your fingers.

And you can finish off with their chocolate meringue or with the Le Palace Hot Souffle (praline, coffee, raspberry or lemon) and these sweet treats will definitely make your childhood cravings tug at you all the more persistently.

All big things start from small beginnings. Le Palace began as a take-away and lunch restaurant and went through an odyssey of management experiments. However, now under the new management of Mr. Roshan Motha, together with the culinary expertise and creativity of chef Jean Pierre Paillier, Le Palace has expanded into a unique restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with speciality desserts and breads, take-away orders which are a phone call away and outside catering for up to 1000 guests.

Le Palace knows the art of spoiling anyone with what they consider to be luxurious food. "This is not a fine dining restaurant," explains the chef, Jean Pierre. "It is a restaurant where you can get food from all over the world, and the speciality is the very fact that it is made with a French touch."

They have a range of 15 set menus that span international cuisines from the Enchiladas of Mexico to the South East Asian spice of Nasi Goreng to the flavours of the Far East in their noodle dishes to the unforgettable pate that seems to bring a little bit of France to the meal.

You can even order their BBQ menu for a poolside gathering with friends or a backyard lounge with colleagues. Or for that special evening, you can order anything from their Buffet Menu or their Special Cocktail menu.

At Le Palace you can even dine by yourself and not feel like you are eating alone, because their menu can make you feel as if you have your own personalised chef cook, a chef who has found a special taste for you alone.
