By Nilika Kasturisinghe
Viewers are protesting that state television is cheating them of their entertainment by airing more than 25 ads during a half hour time slot allocated for a political comedy.

The political comedy shown on Rupavahini on Sunday nights is now being disturbed by a flood of advertisements. While the SLRC is earning excessively it is eating into the viewers time.

Last week spectators were given only 16 minutes viewing time, while advertisers got about 12 minutes to display 26 ads.

Furthermore, the teledrama episode did not end but was to be continued the following week.

The political comedy enjoyed by millions of viewers across the country, began at 9.09 p.m. with two minutes of credits.
